RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, journals and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.
Why an RSS feed?
Rather than spending time visiting sites individually you can set up an RSS feed so new information comes to you through feed readers, from a dropdown list on your favourites bar or into your email inbox.
Updates from your favourite website can be 'fed' through an news aggregator reader.
You can install a dedicated feed reader to your computer or choose a web based feed reader service for your tablet or smart phone.
These feed readers integrate with social media so you can share your feeds.
